“Those
who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying
seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.”
Psalms
126:5-6
Pastor Philimon
Anaya has always felt in his heart to reach out to those in need. He has always
helped families in our city of Escondido
and in our community. First he established the church’s Christian
Academy to provide a
better education for children of our congregation, and then he felt in his
heart to reach out beyond our borders. Several years ago he began to implement
his vision, to establish a mission in a country with a need of Christ.
The
church of Escondido now
financially supports two missions in the beautiful city of Salina
Cruz in Oaxaca,
Mexico. One of
our local ministers felt a calling to go and help. Leaving everything behind,
he and his family relocated to Salina Cruz. Now Bro. Joaquin Ortega is the
Pastor of one of the churches.
Leaving
the comfort of your home, family, friends, and country, to go into a foreign
land is something very difficult to do. It is truly one of the most selfless
acts a person can do. Our Savior Jesus Christ reached out to those he did not
know. Our Spanish ministry has taken the responsibility of this great Missions
Ministry.
